InFlight - 2019 - 2021

As the Design Lead at InFlight, I created a Product Showcase website to support sales efforts and attract new business. The site provided a centralized platform for showcasing our full range of product offerings, complete with detailed descriptions, high-quality screenshots, and examples of customer success. This made it easier for potential clients to understand our products’ value and helped the sales team present solutions more effectively.

I met with Sales, Product Management and Marketing to discuss how we could help Sales deliver a more impactful and engaging demo experience. I suggested that we create a Product Showcase site that is a one-stop shop for Sales to view Product information and demo links.

Most people don’t realize that up to 90% of the candidates they drive to their applicant tracking system leave without submitting applications. That means up to 90% of their recruitment marketing spend and efforts are wasted! We discovered that most candidates were frustrated by the complexity of the navigation, frustrated by duplicate entry requirements, and not confident that the submission was accurate and complete.

The InFlight Design System is a website for Web Developers to help them discover and learn about our Component Libraries, Design Guidelines and Design Patterns. I started by mapping out the initial release of the Design System into a mindmap

Ongoing improvements

After we have tested our prototype thoroughly, we proceed to the implementation phase where we wire up the design and build on top of the target system data and any API's we need to leverage. To do this we leverage our Angular component library and Design system. I act as a key point of contact during this stage to finish the UI Design and answer questions about approach if there are any constaints or scope changes. We also test accessibility and performance metrics with greater scrutinty and examine analytics and qualitative feedback from UAT and ongoing usability testing to constantly improve and iterate on the design.

Qualitative testing and analytics both show a huge increase in successful applications with the same number of applicants. Latest data shows that our solution increases candidate conversion by more than 194%

Our solution transforms the user experience and visual design resulting in drastic reduction of support calls or technical issues. We reduce the time to apply from 30 minutes down to just under 5 minutes.
